PORT COQUITLAM, BC – I am pleased to announce my candidacy for re‐election as SD43 School Trustee from Port Coquitlam. As a parent of three current SD43 students and School Trustee I’m committed to always putting students first.
Elected in 2014, I’ve worked hard on the Board of Education to represent our students and our community. I have served the Board in several leadership roles including currently as Board Vice‐Chair and BCPSEA representative.
I am proud of our continuing success in student achievement levels, moving a number of seismic safety projects forward (including Minnekhada Middle and Irvine Elementary), and in repairing our district’s once desperate financial situation. By bringing stability to our district we’ve been able to support all students, especially our most vulnerable and to create new learning opportunities; giving students the cutting‐edge tools and methods they need to prosper in the 21st century.
A strong education system is the great equalizer for our youth; Together we can build a strong, vibrant, healthy community for their future.
I am pleased to announce my candidacy for School Trustee for Port Coquitlam. As a father of three I’ve see many of the challenges facing students firsthand. As a tax payer and business owner I’ve grown concerned with district’s financial management.
I have a history of success with community projects; as a member of the Board of Directors for PoCo Heritage I helped to advance the new PoCo Museum. I have volunteered on many municipal committees including the May Day Task Force, Spirit Week Task Force, Transportation & Operations Committee and the Smart Growth Committee among others.
I have been supporting youth activities for many years as a soccer coach for PoCo Soccer and troop leader for my son’s boys club. I’ve joined our school’s PAC and became an executive member the D-PAC earlier this year, eager to make a difference for kids across the larger community,
With my years of community involvement, family and business experiences I’ll bring the type of balanced approach required to get this School District back on track.
